Ravens LB Van Noy Vows Revenge on Aaron Rodgers in December Showdown

The AFC North rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers is already one of the NFL’s fiercest. But veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy just added fuel to the fire — and made it personal.

Speaking to reporters this week, Van Noy didn't hold back when asked about facing Aaron Rodgers in Week 16. The Ravens are scheduled to host the Steelers on December 22, and for Van Noy, that date is already circled on his calendar.

"Let’s be real — Aaron Rodgers at 40 is exactly the kind of QB I like to hit."
Kyle Van Noy

Van Noy was referring to a touchdown Rodgers scored against him nearly a decade ago, a play the linebacker says he’s never forgotten. “He got me back then,” Van Noy added, “but I’m not the same player — and he’s definitely not the same runner.”

🔥 Personal Grudge or Mind Games?

Whether it’s personal motivation or classic mind games, Van Noy’s comments have stirred up fans and analysts alike. At 40 years old, Rodgers remains a threat under center, but questions around his mobility and durability have only grown.

Rodgers, for his part, has yet to respond publicly — but he's no stranger to media jabs. Known for his cool demeanor and calculated responses, it wouldn't be surprising if Rodgers lets his performance do the talking in December.

“Van Noy holds grudges the way some guys hold playbooks,” one AFC North scout said. “He’s serious when he talks like this.”

🧠 Rodgers vs. Van Noy: A Decade-Old Duel Renewed

The history between Rodgers and Van Noy may not dominate headlines, but it’s very real to both players. Their clashes go back to when Van Noy played for the Lions, and Rodgers was still with the Packers.

Rodgers burned Van Noy with a memorable scramble-touchdown in 2015, a play that became a highlight reel moment.

Now, with both players in new uniforms and new roles, the stakes are higher — and more personal.

“He’s older now. I’m smarter now,” Van Noy said. “Let’s see how that works out.”

🏈 December 22: More Than Just a Rivalry Game

By Week 16, the AFC North playoff picture could be razor-tight. Both the Steelers and Ravens are expected to be in the thick of the wild card — or even division — battle.

The spotlight will be on Rodgers, who joined Pittsburgh this offseason in hopes of leading them to a final Super Bowl run. But now, he’s also a target — quite literally — for Van Noy.

The Ravens linebacker could be a key disruptor in a game that might decide playoff seeding, and he's clearly ready for the assignment.

🧩 AFC North Drama Just Got Better

With Rodgers vs. Lamar Jackson already drawing attention, adding Van Noy vs. Rodgers gives this matchup even more intrigue. And if there’s one thing fans love, it’s a little trash talk before kickoff.

The December showdown is shaping up to be one of the most emotional — and physical — matchups of the season.

New England Defensive Star Returns, Patriots Ready to Defeat Steelers in Week 3 NFL Game at Gillette Foxborough, September 18, 2025 After weeks of concern over injury status, New England Patriots fans have finally received great news: talented young cornerback Christian Gonzalez has returned to practice and is almost certain to participate in the crucial matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 of the NFL. Gonzalez, who was selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the Patriots’ defense. In his rookie season, he made a strong impression with his speed, ability to read plays, and decisive defensive plays. Despite a shoulder injury that forced him to miss most of the 2023 season, Gonzalez made a strong comeback in 2024 with 59 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions, even scoring a memorable touchdown. This performance earned him a spot on the Second-Team All-Pro, making him the greatest hope for the Patriots’ secondary. Gonzalez’s return at this critical moment is immensely significant. The Steelers boast a youthful, dynamic offense, with a group of high-speed receivers always ready to break through opposing defenses. Gonzalez’s presence will help the Patriots fortify their defensive wall, while also boosting the team’s confidence ahead of this highly anticipated, intense game. Head coach Mike Vrabel couldn’t hide his excitement when talking about his player: “Christian is a true warrior. He makes a difference every time he steps onto the field. The team not only gains a great player but also a huge source of inspiration from his fighting spirit.
